Night trip to Pompeii
The evening trip to Pompeii includes a dinner followed by a special guided tour to the worldwide known excavations bearing the traces of the life of the rich and swinging Pompeii that was destroyed in 79 AD by a disastrous eruption of the volcano Vesuvius.
You will enjoy a typical dinner of antique Pompeii, tasting some specialities the Latins used to call Scriblita cum caseo, Porcellus assus, and Bassica pompeiana, which will accompany you across the time, introducing you to the tastes of the intense life in antique Pompeii. Then, you will be guided to the breathtaking excavations.
The excavations will be expressly open in the night on October 7th for SRDS partecipants!
Participants will be picked up at the Congress Venue and accompanied back to the Best Western Paradiso and Splendid Hotel in Naples at the end of the trip.

One night. Just one night to travel back in time, two millenniums, and find yourself in Pompeii a few days before Mount Vesuvius decided to put an end to the city’s history. The past fades into the present as sounds, visions, magic, mysteries follow each other: the ancient city comes back to life, unveiling all of its vitality. We will walk towards Porta Marina, glowing in all its splendour. The Temple of Jupiter lights itself with a clap of your hands. A familiar market noise animates the Macellum.
