Papers must be written in English and can be submitted in the following categories: Regular Papers describing original research as well as design, development and experimental results of operational systems, and Practical Experience Reports describing on-going industrial projects, prototype systems and exploratory or emerging applications.
Regular Papers and Practical Experience Reports should be no longer than 20 and 12 double-spaced pages, respectively, including figures, tables, references, and appendices.
The font size should be at least 11-point size. Each paper must include a cover page, with the title, the authors and their affiliations, the contact author and his/her email address, an abstract, a list of keywords and the indication whether the submission is a Regular Paper or a Practical Experience Report.
All papers that significantly deviate from these specifications will be rejected automatically.

Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts electronically, in PDF format, to the symposium homepage, at http://jems.sbc.org.br/srds2008.

Accepted papers will appear in the symposium proceedings, which will be published by the IEEE Computer Society.
